Shine on |
LyricsSHINE ONVerse 1 I said a prayer for you today I know God must have heard I felt the answer in my heart Although He spoke no word Verse 2 I didn't ask for wealth or fame I knew you wouldn't mind I asked Him to send treasures Of a far more lasting kind Verse 3 I asked Him to be near you At the start of each new day To bring you health and blessings And friends to share your way Verse 4 I asked for happiness for you In all things great and small But it was for His loving care I prayed the most of all So you can... shine on...shine on... Shine on...shine on... shine on.... Verse 5 Your spirit lives on in my heart Love never dies And this my friend is not the end We go on to eternal lives... so we can... Shine on...shine on...shine on...shine on... |
| Short Song Description: A Prayer for You... original title of this beautiful poem, now a song titled "Shine on" a perfect ending to "Going Home" |
| Story Behind the Song: This song came to me in an email as a poem called "A Prayer for You"... author unknown... after some research, I found the author as Frank J. Zamboni, same as the inventor of the Zamboni ice cleaning machine. However after more research and many phone calls, I have not been able to find a contact for this person... On that very same day, I had also received an email signed 'Shine on'... the two became one song plus one added verse I wrote for this CD... |
